Venus flytraps (Dionea muscipula) need the right container and the right display for the best effect. They need enough air circulation to prevent mold and fungus from killing them, enough depth to allow good drainage so they stay moist but not sopping wet, and wide enough walls to prevent every Tom, Dick, and Harriet from setting off their traps. Finding good clear glass fishbowls is enough of a challenge, but this one comes with a brass four-footed stand to hold the bowl well off the ground. Best of all, the bowl has a wide enough mouth that if it's necessary to remove the flytrap and chill it for winter dormancy, the bowl won't be chipped or damaged in the process.
